Fall - Prose

Fall

white light bends from an azure sky
filtering milkily
through leaves on towering trees
tinting greens then yellows then reds and browns
who hang precariously, timidly
a deep last breath
sweetly releasing
floating, falling
finally satisfied
returned to the
hungry soil
